Wellspring Calgary was born of a dream... Motivated by their own personal experience with cancer, our co-founders John Stephure, Rita Egizii, and Barbara Cunnings-Versaevel dreamed of a safe, warm, welcoming place that people could come home to when faced with a cancer diagnosis. They dreamed of a place where resources were freely shared, life was celebrated, and hope restored.
A place where people could feel at home; a place people could call home. We warmly welcome you to this home, Wellspring Calgary’s Carma House.
Throughout this website, we're pleased to share with you all that Wellspring Calgary has to offer people who are living with a cancer diagnosis. We provide programs and resources intended to support healing of the body, mind and spirit ranging from: exercise and movement based courses, to instructional or information-based courses - to expressive programs such as art and drumming. We also provide a speaker series, peer support, regular access to current information through our web-site and e-blasts access to other community resources available through our in-house lending library, support with childcare and so much more. All of this is available to members free of charge with no referral required.
The ability to offer programs and services at no charge to our members is made possible only because of the generous donations secured from individuals, corporations and from our grassroots fundraisers who create, organize and participate in the various events that are featured and highlighted throughout the website. As a relatively new organization, we are proud to boast of a legion of skilled volunteers who also contribute in a myriad of ways to ensure the smooth flow in all that we do.
We welcome everyone to get involved with us in a way that makes sense to you - by donating, volunteering or perhaps by hosting a third party fundraising event. We encourage you to come by for a tour of this beautiful gift to the Calgary Community.
We look forward to your visit!
